So where can we take our 7 and 4 year old (they are pretty restaurant savy but still 7 and 4!!) that is relatively close by but not a chain with paper placemats and crayons. We love Village Trattoria but have done it to death.

Many thanks.

The Star Tavern in Orange always has a lot of kids on Friday and Saturday. It's not far from SO and has pizza comparable to Reservoir and a decent menu with large portions. Some good beers on tap, as well.
Cheers

The entire restaurant was filled with fa ilies with young children. It was a Thursday evevning at about 6:30 pm. Service was fast and good. Food was yummy. All family members happy.
