The old thread is closed. I just wanted to mention that TS and I went this weekend and were happily surprised. The food wasn't AWESOME but it wasn't bad either. And we thought the prices were pretty reasonable. I got the shrimp bun (which is what I usually get at Chelsea Cottage (9th ave south of 23rd) in the city and it was tasty and cheap at $8. Not as good as in the city but certainly edible especially considering there is nothing else in our area.

Someone commented that ther service was bad. I had fine service. TS got the beef pho and she thought the broth was tasty and the meat of good quality. She did ask for no connective tissues (joint) but it came anyway. All I can say to that (as a vegetarian) is GROSS!!!

I think we will go back but I think we enjoy Penang a bit more (clearly a different cuisine) than Saigon but considering that they are so close to eachother in proximity it might be a while before we go back for Vietnamese.

As an aside, I was surprised to see a Bill and Harry's across the street, which I hadn't noticed before--not that I intend on going there.

fyi: to get the pho with no connective tissues, you need to order pho tai.
