Book signings by several nationally recognized cookbook authors are also part of the evening’s festivities and include Rick Rodgers, recipient of the Bon Appétit Food and Entertaining Award for Outstanding Cooking Teacher. Rodgers has authored over 25 cookbooks including several titles in the Williams-Sonoma cookbook series. A number of his projects are the recipients of James Beard and IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) Cookbook Awards. Other celebrity appearances include Linda Eckhardt, a respected food writer whose work has appeared in a variety of national magazines. She is the }author of sixteen cookbooks including Bread in Half the Time which won the IACP’s Julia Child Award for Best Book of the Year. Entertaining 101, co-authored with her daughter, Katherine Defoyd, received the prestigious James Beard Award for Best Entertaining Cookbook. These titles and a variety of other cookbooks will be available for purchase throughout the night, courtesy of Goldfinch Books of Maplewood.
The proceeds will directly benefit one of the Lions Club’s local initiatives – spearheading the purchase of defibrillators for each school in the district. |

$25 in advance, $35 at the door. Last week we sent a letter to all local organizations (service clubs, PTAs, Boy & Girl Scouts, neighborhood associations, and just about every other Maplewood organization listed on the library's website, http://www.maplewoodlibrary.org/org.html). If you buy your ticket thru one of those organizations, we'll donate back to it $10 for every ticket it sells. You will also be able to buy thru participating restaurants. Of course, you can always buy thru the Lions. If so, email me, Phil Stern, at MaplewoodLions@verizon.net.
