Any ideas??? I think I've left it too late for a house rental, so I'd appreciate any insights or ideas. I don't know which part of LBI; we're not fussy. We have young kids, and we're not really night owls.

If you want a quiet area with no other hotels around try the Spray Beach Motel in Spray Beach (ask to stay in the main hotel, not the "over flow" hotel). They are on the beach and there are no other hotels around it, just some houses. The beach is also very nice in that area and only moderately crowded.

If you want to be closer to the action, such as restaurants, bars and Fantasy Island for the children, try The Sea Shell, Coral Seas (there is a thrid between these 2 hotels that I can't remember). All of these are in the center of Beach Haven within wealking distance of Bay Village, Fanatsy Island and many bars and restaurants. It is very crowded and noisy and there is an active bar/club at the Sea Shell so there will be noise until the wee hours.

Sorry, but I don't know any on the northern ends but I'm sure there are some good ones near Barnegat Light.

Hope this helps.

A second for the Spray Beach Inn. I'd be shocked, however, if you are too late for the rentals. Unless this year is vastly different, the past few years have been slow for rentals and owners I've known have had August weeks still available in May and June. Have you tried LBInet.com or vrbo.com? Those are some online ways of looking around.

Good luck!
