For the second time in a two month span, Heart & Soul has taken first prize for its entree in a Great Chef competition. Last night, Chef Jesse outdid himself with his ribs and won the plaque for first place honors from the Maplewood Lions Club. The event was held at the Maplewood Country Club. We should all be very proud to have Chef Jesse in our community of fine restaurants. Congratulations to Chef Jesse and to Heart & Soul. |

Congratulations to Heart and Soul and Chef Jesse.
I'm guessing, however, that this event was held at the Maplewood Women's Club, since last night the CHS Cougar Boosters held their 8th annual Golf Classic (to benefit CHS extracurriculars) at Maplewood Country Club! As usual, great event and a wonderful job by Maplewood Country Club. |

Go to the link I posted--it explains everything. Just remember that when you get a jones for really great ribs and cornbread, plan a day or two in advance. |

Smarty, there was no mystery for at least the first year and a half that you've been here. There was no need to call in advance for dining in or takeout unless you wanted your takeout ready for your arrival. As of a couple of months ago, there is a new system which is explained on the website.

Jesse won one of the top prizes at the Lions Club "Great Chefs Night" held at the Maplewood Womens Club. I was really thrilled to be a participant as well, since a number of the restaurants there did a great job in both quality and presentation of the food, and it seems over 200 people attended, and the proceeds are going to be channeled back into the community. Jesse and I spoke yesterday and are trying to work out a food and wine collaboration for the near future..we hope to have the details worked out by next week. |

Thank you for the positive comments.
By next week, we should have a pretty good final count on attendance and funds raised. I'll make certain they are publicized. Thanks to you and all the vendors who took such pride in their professions and helped make the event an overwhelming success.
Also, thank you to the community who came out in support.
I will also get the awards list and post them.
