We went camping there a few years ago & it was actually pretty nice. You probably want to wait until June, though, as the nights can still get pretty chilly.

Try ECCE in Barryville, NY. It is 20 miles from Milford, PA and overlooks the Delaware River and is less than 2 hrs from us. It is a lovely B&B run by two great guys. A friend of mine went this weekend. I'll give more details then.

I believe the state park commission has cabins for rent directly on the river.

I don't know a contact number for them. Try NJ.Gov

Drove up to visit our friends at Ecce. Oh my gosh!!! The view from this location is the one I'll have in my mind whenever I need to remember something beautiful.
It is on a perch that overlooks the Delaware river. You look down (I don't know maybe 1/2 mile down) and for miles all around. You are also near all the river rafting places along the Delaware. So you have both beauty and exercise in one neat package.

Sherri, that place looks fantastic. Is it hard to book last minute, or do they generally have availability?

Don't know personally. But there are only 5 rooms that I am aware of. However, there are several B&B's in the area. You can go on the Sullivan County website to search. I think there is one called the Bear Claw in Yulan on Washington Lake which is 4 miles from Ecce and you could drive up and take in the view. There is also a fabulous waterfalls in Shohola PA. If you're interested I could set out an itinerary for you since Rich and I bought a house in Yulan 18 mos ago.
