The last time I was there (Maybe a year ago) the waiter annoyed me to no end. He hung around the table, did stupid magic tricks, wouldn't leave us alone. That pissed me off so much that I never went back. After that, I don't really remember what the food was like.

I would recommend take out since I have had nothing but terrible service there and have heard many others with the same complaint...there was a thread on this awhile ago and the service was mentioned then too.

the food is good but service poor

We've been probably a dozen times and only once was the service bad. On par or better w/ most restaurant service around here. It's a reliable, solid place to take the kids, have pizza or a good burger and maybe watch the ballgame on tv.

Good food & casual atmosphere, we never had a problem with the service, in fact, our servers have been wonderful - but we tend to be rather charming customers. Sweet potato fries are great!

We go fairly frequently, and while sometimes the service has been slow, it wasn't awful. And since its one of the only kid friendly places around where you can get a beer and a burger without spending a lot - its well worth it. Would I choose if for date night? Probably not.

Pitchers of Bass? I did not know that - I've been ordering by the pint.

Great thin crust pizza - family favorite has become hawaiian (and I don't usually eat meat :-) ). Also good "Old World" - garlic/white cheese.

The food is very good and cheap. Ribs are great. Guinness on tap. Very kid friendly, especially now that the smoking ban has gone into effect. Service is spotty at best. It's not terribly slow, but mostly inattentive. I'm not sure if I've seen the same server twice. But as people who get easily frustrated by poor service, we keep going back so it can't be too bad.

Do they have booths, tables, or both?

We usually get the same server who is very nice -- tall woman with a blonde pony tail. She knows us, our son likes her AND she takes interest and listens to his stories. A few times we've had a waitress who is a GRUMP. Overall, we really like Quincey's. They have booths and tables. Tables only in the bar area where we always sit.

Quincey's used to be one of several "Sun Tavern" locations, and offers bar pies as good or better than Bunny's. It's reportedly owned by South Orange resident Pete Davis, the same Pete Davis who was recently reported to be buying Toro Loco.

Glad to hear this. We will have to try it again as we live just up the road from Quincy's. We were so disgusted with the poor service and bad food that we never went back. After seeing this thread, I'm thinking we may give it another chance.

Before it was Quincy's and Sun Tavern it use to be a Charlie Browns. All three were /are great. There are actually three seperate areas. You walk in the front door and sort of to your right is the area by the windows. It overlooks the parking lot. If I remember correctly, it's sort of a sunroom area. A floor to ceiling wall seperates the bar area from this area.

I think the bar area has tables. Not sure as I never ate on that side and though the restrooms are on this side; I do my best not to use public restrooms; espeically when I can be home in less then 10 minutes.

If when you walk in you go to your left and down a few steps there are booths and tables. I know that we've only had a problem one time in all the years we've gone there and it wasn't the waiter's fault. My mom and her friends from church go there all the time at least once a week. As people have already mentioned Quincy's is kid friendly, has good food and it isn't expensive.

had takeout last night. Ordered half-rack ribs and substituted for their sweet potato fries. Ribs were tender and delicious. Fries were yummy. My wife had a grilled chicken salad....total price? $19.50
