We are thinking of staying in Manahawken for a weekend in June and driving to th beach in LBI - anyone been? Can you suggest anything good activities apart from the beach - thanks - oh and good places to eat - with and without kids....

L.B.I -- If you're in good shape and don't mind sore legs the next day, drive to the north (turn left) end of the island and climb the lighthouse. Bring a camera.

or

go south and the end is a quiet view of the inland marshland.

or

do both.

While not part of your question, go from November to February and watch the harlequin ducks in the inlet. They are beautiful with wonderful markings.
