There's a sign in the window saying they're closed today (Tuesday), and will reopen tomorrow under new management. As a regular customer & neighbor, this is surprising to say the least! Does anyone know the scoop?

I was just about to post the very same question. I stopped by by for my morning cup of Hazelnut/French Vanilla mix on the way home from dropping my kids at the train and Badda-BING, they wuz CLOSED! I depend on them for great coffee and great bagels (altho' I've been avoiding bagels lately) and a always a brief and pleasant (if rather dry)conversation with Joe, the owner.

He cooks almost everything they sell (sold?) from pastries to roast beef, etc. and its unlikely a new owner will make the effort. And a cup of flavored coffee was about $.35 cheaper than at the Shat (okay, the Chat) or elsewhere. Ah, what a loss.

And what will the CHS kids do for lunch!?

Don't talk about it being dead yet. Try to be open minded. Maybe it will get even better. I liked Tara's too, but I definitely could see room for improvement too. Maybe new blood is exactly what that place needs to take it to the next level.
