Will be going to Marco Island, Fl for a few day. Any suggestions for good restaurants and things to do in the area. |

My family has had a place in Marco for years. It is a great get away. The big hotels on the beach have parasaling, jet skis etc. There are a couple of nature preserves and easy access to fan boats. Will you be staying in a hotel? If so there are brochures available in all the lobbies all the time that can tell you where to go and what to do. My parents just took my kids down there last year, so its been a few years since I've been. But if you need more details I'll be happy to ask my parents if they can remember the names of any places. I have to say that the best part of Marco for my entire family has always been the Peanut Butter Pie that you can get from the Little Bar in Goodlands. Goodlands is a small fishing village about a 15-20 minute drive from the main part of Marco. Anyone can tell you how to get there (there are only about 3-4 main roads on the island). The restaurant (Little Bar) is OK, not great but not bad. There is another restaurant in Goodlands called "Stans". The food is also only OK but the ambiance is really terrific, they have an outdoor Tiki Bar, sometimes live music and an extremely "Jimmy Buffet" style of laid back humor. Sometimes we go to Stans for Dinner and the Little Bar for the Pie. Honestly the pie is worth the trip! Have a wonderful trip!
