For starters, the Poconos is 2 hrs away and the Adirondacks are 4-5 hrs away.
Do you maybe mean the Catskills? Also 2 hrs away in NYS. Your dog would like either place.....

We just went here in the Adirondacks. It was great, and you can bring a dog if you stay in one of the cabins. On upper Saranac Lake.

Am I the only freak who actually contemplates where I can go on vacation with my dog? I also contemplate opening up businesses where you can take your dog. It irritates me to no end that I can't take my dog with me bowling or to the movie theater.

Dogs love the beach. It's great to watch them run along the sand or jump into the waves.

"I can't take my dog with me bowling or to the movie theater."

Have you tried? Praker and I go Mall walking all the time. I also take him to Best Buy. Not sure if he'd like bowling but next time I go I'll give it a shot.

We were at Fire Island with our dog last summer and to our surprise dogs were allowed on the beach in the town we were in.
