We just celebrated my son's Bar Mitzvah and I think stumbled upon a hidden gem. (at least it was a hidden gem to us!)
We searched far and wide for a location to hold our casual, island themed party. When I looked at the Maplewood Tennis Club on Ridgewood Road I was sold! It has ample parking, great looking facilities and what I soon found to be a great caterer. Jon Peters of David Ellis catering came up with a menu that was outstanding. The room was transformed into an island oasis right there in Maplewood, miles from the ocean! There were palm trees, tropical fish and red stripe beer. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cool despite the tropical storm that was blowing outside! His staff was attentive and polite. His food displays were amazing and people visited the buffet two and three times!
Think about him and/or the club for your next party.

We've been to other affairs catered by them (not at Tennis club) and the food was outstanding

Will I see anyone here at the German Alps Fest at Hunter Mt. on Aug. 8-9?

Not what it was in decades past, but still a good time. A few Dinks and that chair lift and I'm on my way.
