What are the Best Lake communitie or Vacation spots within 45 minutes of these towns for a young family? Summertime activities a must.

I've driven through the town and it's absolutely beautiful.....architectural, Main Street, etc........I've wondered whether or not people actually go there for summer/winter vacation because I never hear anybody talk about it.

There was an article in the times about it recently, touting it as a summer place because of the great bike trails and cheap (relatively) housing prices. So we're going to take a look...
