Catskills better/prettier. Poconos closer to Maplewood. (Just my opinion, of course.) |

Lots of recent flooding in towns in the Catskills, so be sure to find out the impact at your destination. I'm not sure if there was an impact in the Poconos.

The Green Mountains of Vermont, starting near the border of NY, VT, and Mass, can't be beat--- and the past couple of days they have been quite nice--- sunny, a few billowing clouds, temperatures in the high 70's. And they are but three hours 15 mins drive from S-O-M. And no crowds. |
