It's near Fajardo. I thought it was really nice. Somewhat pricey, but great pools, beautiful beach, a rather stunning property.

Completely stunning, pricey food but well worth it. You take a boat to the beach, but you overlook it from a Cliff. Be sure you are clear on the 3 separate spaces for accomodations, they are all quite different. If you have kids, they will LOVE the DIVE in movies every night. See tripadvisor.com for many reviews. I LOVED this resort, possibly more than any other I have stayed at. The views of it, and from it, are breathtaking.

These are my thoughts:

1. Lengthy drive to/from the airport.
2. Nice accomodations. Dining good to very good.
3. Beautiful spa.
4. Nice range of activities including tennis, golf and water sports.
5. Nice pools.
6. Decent little casino.
7. Extremely large property (I believe over 1000 acres).

My biggest problem with the resort is its size. Getting from the room, if in the main building, to the beach is an adventure and almost a trip within a trip. First, you have to walk a ways to the tram. Then you'll wait for the tram to take it down to the waterfront. Then you have to wait for the water taxi which will take you to the beach (privately owned island) in approxiately 15/20 minutes. The beach is beautiful but plan on making it a day to visit the beach.

We also had some bad experiences with the water taxis breaking down making it kind of frustrating.

I will say that while overall it was a nice vacation experience we would not return due to the beach factor.

I thought it was Fajarda? Anyway, if you're there, definitely hop on the ferry and go to Culebra for a few nights. Then rent a boat and go to Culebrita. It's a small island with an old lighthouse. NO ONE was there and we had three beaches to share with about three other couples, who we only saw when we passed each other on hikes.

Very cool experience. And lots of neat locals (on Culebra), many with stories of, "I came to visit and I still have my return flight ticket from five years ago..." So be careful, you could end up "going native."

J.B.
