Does anyone know anywhere in the area (within 30 minute drive) that has good fried clams???? Hubby and I are really craving some and I thought maybe someone would know a decent place serving them around here. Thanks!

I know they have them at Manny's across from home depot as well. To my experience, most places just sell the frozen kind, so they're more or less all the same.

Keyport Fishery, Keyport about 30 minutes from Mpl. has mucho fried seafood. Also, excellent soup.

It is only takeout but walk across the street and sit on the benches and watch the boats on the bay.

I like fried clams with the bellies - Legal Seafood at SH Mall delivers, but I ordered them 2X's and they were overcooked.

Docks on the Upper West side in NYC serves up perfectly deep-fried belly-intact clams. So yummy.

If you want to venture beyond 30 miles, my fave clam place is in Revere, Mass. Right on the beach and open until 2 AM - I forget the name, even at 2 AM there's a line out the door. "Something-or-other Roast Beef" But the roast beef is awful, any other fried clam people know what I'm talking about?

Scullys? Kellys? I'm 90% sure it's Kelly's.

Well Lydia, if you're going to drive up to Revere, keep going -- El's on Rte 1 in Wells, Me. A shack on the side of the road. Opens when the haul comes in, closes when its gone. mmmmmm......

A bit closer, Peter's in Matawan.

Ronnie's in Auburn, MA. I'm going to a wedding up that way in Sept. and will definitely be making a detour for the fried clams.
