Is there a way to slow down the ripening process? I find that my bananas get overly-ripe really fast. Thanks! |

It's the heat! If you put them in the refrigerator, the skin will turn brown, but the fruit will not ripen as quickly. Also, no yucky fruit flies! |

Hint from Heloise: Wrap the bananas in a dishtowel inside a plastic bag. Refrigerate and the bananas will stay perfect for a week. |

VIT, We bought bananas the other day and now we have fruit flies all over. Is there way to get rid of them? We tried putting our apples and bananas in the fridge, but the kids do not like them cold. |

Great snack idea if bananas are ripening too fast: unpeel, wrap in saran wrap, and put in the freezer. Real banana popsicles - mmmmmmm. |

Mooewe, This is a great idea! They sell the frozen banana pops in Disney World that are dipped in chocolate. My kids loved them. I will have to give this a try. |
