Just had dinner in Millburn (sorry Mpltown) and walked over to the new store, Coco's. It is where E & B was on the corner of Millburn Ave and Main St. Terrific gelatti. Two really nice young guys opened it up. Try the Mocha Chip. Huge pieces of chocolate. My husband had Tahitian Vanilla and Hazelnut. Real pistachios in the Pistachio. A pleasant experience. Please try it, wish we had one in Mplwd. Sometimes I get tired of Hershey! |

The gelati was good but wow i think I have sticker shock - 4.50 for 1 scoop. Is that the going rate? |

Huh? I've been there twice, and both times it was $2.80 for a generous size "small" cone or cup. |

Well, then I got ripped off - Got two small cups for my kids and was charged $9.00 on Saturday night. I didn't really think about it until after so I didn't think to check the prices. I can't recall - are the prices posted prominently. Msg - what did you pay? I'm feeling militant - should i storm coco's and get my money back? Get Gelati credit? Boy i feel stupid. |

Yes, the prices are posted prominently, on large boards just behnd the counter. The two young men who own the place are very eager and accommodating. If I were you, I'd go in and tell them (nicely) what happened. Maybe they'll make amends! |

I've heard nothing but good things from several people about their smoothies, but have yet to try them myself. I'm going to make an effort to get over there this week! |

Ok, so what's the diff between gelato and ice cream? more sugar? Less fat? Please explain. My daughter's cone was only $2.80. Prices are posted quite prominently. Wonder if there was an honest mistake or what. |

I paid $2.80 for a generous small cup. I was surprised at the size. We went on Sunday night at about 9pm and they were sold out of almost everything except the sorbet type stuff. My brother in law had the pomegranite and loved it. I had to settle for Cold Stone (but at least they had coffee) Gelato and ice cream are different because of air and fat I believe. I hope everyone tries it. The guys who own it are sooooooo nice and I'd really like to see them succeed. |

Less air, less fat, much flavor...I second Coco's Mocha Chip! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelato |

Have gone twice and the gelato is outstanding. The chocolate (Sharffen Berget) icecream was heaven. Will be going back! And I agree it would be great to have a place like this in town. |

Well, I have to hand it to the 2 guys that own Coco's. They really are a class act. I was in Millburn today with my son and sister in tow and we stopped in for gelato. I told the 2 owners about being overcharged on Saturday night and they apologized and wouldn't let me pay anything for my 3 gelato's. Thank's again guys. BTW the pistachio was great! |

Morrisa - thanks for sharing the very excellent resolution - I love a store that knows the key ingredient for success is the good old "the customer is always right." Happy customers = good word of mouth (or keyboard) = growing your customer base! Because of how they dealt with your experience, I'm going to take my kids there this afternoon! |

OK, I don't even LIKE coffee ice cream and their Mocha Chip had me audibly moaning with delight because it was so darn good!!! Definitely a generous scoop for the price. |

Charles I agree. Selection of flavors were lacking but very tasty overall and a reasonable value. I liked the aesthetic of the place, and when I left the place I was thinking...This is a little slice of NYC. With the Teany drinks, the cool interior, the Hale and Hearty soups coming in September. I heartily approve. |

Charles, On my way out the door, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small sign on the wall to the left of the gelatto freezer that I THINK said "Additional Flavors", and I could have sworn I saw chocolate peanut butter on there. But I truly just barely saw it, so maybe someone else can tell me if I was seeing things... anybody else see that sign? |

Diva - The sign is definitely there, and it is a Peanut Butter Swirl, but it's not swirled with chocolate. I can't remember exactly what flavor it is (I think strawberry) but it's supposed to be like PB&J. |

Ewww, that doesn't sound so good! OK, so we need to suggest the PB and Choc. flavor! |

I am addicted! Went this afternoon (my third time this week) with my toddler as I was craving the chocolate gelatto. The owners couldn't have been nicer to me as they helped me in and out with my double stroller. Also my little girl just loved the cookie they put in the icecream. Next time I want to try one of their smoothies or juice drinks. |
