Any recommendations on hotels, motels or B&B?

We're looking to go the first or second week in October (the husband, my mom, our 8 mos old and I).
We would like to stay in a town where there's things to do (tours, good food, shopping) and that has a reasonably priced B&B or motel/hotel. We're driving on a Thursday morning and returning on Sunday.
I got the Lancaster County travel guide and there's so much info, it's overwhelming. You never really get a clear idea of what's unique in the different areas.
Thanks

I don't know of places to stay, but I do know that the Good & Plenty restaurant, though very touristy (all of these "Amish-style" restaurants are), is the best in its class. The fried chicken is really good! Another thing I know is that Route 30 has A LOT of traffic, so you should probably stay somewhere that is not on that main road.

We stayed in the Adamstown Inn, in Adamstown, PA. (www.adamstowninn.com) There's TONS of antique shopping in Adamstown, and you're close to Lancaster and lots of little amish towns. The owners were very nice.

Claudia,
We stayed on a farm run by a retired Menonite couple. It was a B&B called Jonde Lane Farm and it was charming. Great breakfasts and a dose of religion which was very cultural and not oppressive. There were chickens to feed, cows to milk and a about 80 acres of corn all around.
It is near Hershey and all the Lancaster stuff. THe Nisleys couldn't have been more pleasant. Here is there website. I can't recommend them highly enough.
