This morning I was in Kings (Maplewood) bakery section. I got into a discussion with the bakery manager, Donna, who is so lovely, about missing all the products I once bought at Sonny's. She showed me all the products they carry that would substitute for what I'd been missing. They have a great new line (new for me) from Lilly's, kosher. Rugelah, egg challah, challah rolls, and chocolate babka that looks fabulous. They carry the chocolate lace cookies and linzer cookies, too. They also have the crinkle pastry with the powdered sugar. Not only are they carrying Pechter rye but a beautiful new brand that looks terrific. Donna is very willing to speak to anyone about other products she should order. I felt so much better about losing Sonny's when I walked out of Kings this morning knowing I could get some of the stuff I love to buy.

I was told by a relative of Sonny's, who I just happened to meet one day, that they may open at the Bagels4U site in Short Hills
