My nephew, his wife & my 13 month old great niece are visiting us on Saturday & we'd like to take them to lunch. Does anyone have any suggestions for a casual, eclectic type menu, baby friendly place?

Mrs. George

I stopped by Cafe Meow this morning for coffee. I noticed that they have little tables and chairs for kids (or gangster dwarves - see other thread).

I don't know about the food, but it looks to be very child-friendly. Then you can go across the street and buy a toy!

try Verjus on Springfield Avenue. We took our 8mos-old daughter and we had wonderful, elegant brunch.

I think Verjus is only open on Sunday for brunch.

wanna be the cool uncle? get a ziploc full of cheerios, a coupla smallish toys from Milk Money (no choking hazards, anything that could hurt you when thrown or anything that rolls - because it will roll off the table...enjoy that drop and pick up game!), and a little baby doll (get the little ones that fit into a purse) and put the toys in separate boxes (no need to wrap). Let the baby open the boxes and play with stuff during the meal. new stuff (even if from the consignment store) can hold, even a baby's, attention for a while.

That's worked for me, with my evil trio, at many a restaurant.

The Goat in SO has a play section for kids. Perfect for you.

Cafe Meow just opened on Springfield Ave across from Wooden You know.
