I'm going to Pittsburg in two weeks to see the Steelers. Will only be in town for two days, but would love to check out some of the tourist attractions. Can anyone recommend places to see? And do you need a rental car to get around? |

Oh, I love Pittsburgh. I went to college about an hour north of there, and still get out there a few times a year to visit friends. I'm also jealous that you're going to a Steeler game - that'll be quite the experience! As for tourist attractions, you'll want to take the incline up to Mount Washington, where the view of the city is fantastic! I believe it's the Duquesne incline. Also, Point State Park is the point where the three rivers meet and a good place to check out. There's the Andy Warhol museum as well. I would be completely remiss if I didn't tell you to check out Primanti Brothers (I suggest the original one in the Strip District) for a sandwich. I insist on going there every time I'm in town. At night, check out either Station Square or the South Side for bars, pubs, etc. You will probably need a car to get around - I'm not sure that public transportation in Pittsburgh is up to par with this area. I know there are busses and the T, but I don't know much else. |
