A while back, Joyce lost her baked-goods connection. Now she has hooked up with Cranes to provide their baked goods in the morning! Hurray (but bad for my figure). Croissant today was fresh and buttery--next week will go for the chocolate filled one. Steve Crane was there today handing out leaflets where you can order dinner by phone and pick it up at the train station on your way home that night. Price is right, also--$12.95 per entree plus 2 sides. This is great news for commuters. |

Guess we lost Pen & Jen! The train station won't be the same. |

Not sure it means P&J are lost. Steve is working with Joyce on the breakfast baked goods and doing the evening meal thing as one of the business sponsors of the Concierge program (even though I noticed that Cranes was not yet listed on the roster of participating businesses--he said they have been members for a while). I do not think this means P&J are out--don't see why they cannot coexist. In fact, for the meal program to work, I imagine Cranes will need someone in the Concierge Center in the evenings, which would work fine if P&J are still there and willing to do it (for a fair price, I am sure). From what I see this is a win-win for all--creates more traffic into the station at night, which means potential for more sales by P&J of their teas and cookies. |

Pen & Jen's are not at the station at the same time Joyce is, so I don't think this is an indicator of anything about their leaving. Cranes was also at the station this morning marketing their pre-made meals. Looks delicious and a good deal. |

Crane's dinners are FANTASTIC and the portions are generous (unless you're ravenous, one dinner can easily be split between two people while leaving room for dessert). We've tried three different ones so far (roast chicken, meatloaf, and a brilliant ropa vieja) and were blown away by the consistently high quality. Great option when you're not in the mood to fix dinner. The price can't be beat, either. Very fond of Crane's, as it was our first taste of Maplewood |

That is SUCH good news! I never much cared for Joyce's breakfast goods (just sugary donuts and heavy croissants), but Crane's muffins? YUM!!!!! I so know what I'm having for breakfast for the forseeable future! |

So far all I saw were croissants, but perhaps muffins were there also or will be coming. |

Crane's is working with the Concierge and Joyce. They have been members of the Concierge for quite a long time. I understand that the Concierge wall sign is coming down. The Concierge members will be listed on the Concierge website and members brochures will be on the Concierge counters in the middle of the station. |
