We are looking for someone to cater a small party (about 20 people). Does anyone know a good caterer in the area?

MHK - I don't know what kind of food you are looking for, but we just went to a party catered by Chef Jesse, of Heart & Soul. It's southern food and it was OUT of SIGHT!
(in fact, I've been tot he restaurant several times and I think the catered food was a little better)

There was amazing fried catfish, roasted chicken, mac ann cheese, ribs, corn bread, candied yams and more I know I am forgetting...

The people hosting the party made a salad and cole slaw and it was a PARTY!
Everyone raved and in fact, we got a few more people to try Heart & Soul.

MKH, besides doing a search since this has come up several times in the past 2-3 months, I believe, I know that New World Catering (Ellen Shapiro) is recommended by many. I'm using her for an upcoming party in June. I've eaten their food many times and think it's quite good. She's been real easy to work with.

Look into Sweet Concessions, in South Orange. They do catering, too. I've enjoyed the food I've had from there.

New World is really good. If you're looking for platters of casual food Church's Kictheb on Vauxhall is delicious. For a party last year I ordered fried chicken, ribs, and mac 'n cheese. It was really good. We fed about 100 people -- it was a lot of food but I gotta say it was perfect. Judy Church was so nice too. They are a 908 # and I think the town is Vauxhall (or Union). We also got their chicken nuggets for the kids -- really good.

Church's: 908-810-1686. On Springfield Ave in the Vauxhall section of Union. If you are going from Mwood toward 78 Its on the left just past the auto parts place. Yum.

If you want Italian DiPietro's on Springfield across from the Hilton Library does catering. They did the Y Spring Fling last year and it was yummy. I was also just at a bday party where they did giant subs. (973) 762-4077

Celebrated is still in business doing private parties. You can call their old number which they didn't lose when they sold the business.

If Celebrated is still in business (albeit catering) , maybe those with gift certificates can have a small catered party or dinner for 2 to go?
