Tried Burnett BBQ on Springfield for the first time last night. It was worth another visit. Lots of families for an early Friday night, including a giant birthday party. The place is a bit quirky (like the random sink and soap alcove) but the food was good. The waiter was nice enough but needed some help in warming up to really get his game on. Simply asking for his recommendations was enough. The cod was yummy and hubby liked the BBQ combo. Tons of food made it a bargain. And the sausage appetizer could have been a meal itself -- if all you wanted to eat was sausage, lettuce and olives. Only complaint . . . the lights were too bright. Oh, and I would have loved a nice glass of Portuguese wine. Guess we'll bring it next time. We walked over because we thought parking might be a drag, but they are right next to a municipal lot. We went without the kiddos but we'd bring them next time. Try it out! |

Gee, we did not have the same experience. Have had the food from the original BBQ on Burnett and were excited when we saw that this branch was going to be a sit down restaurant. Went there recently, and shame on me, but for the $50 we spent I could have done without dried out ribs and overcooked chicken. The sides were cold and my husband ordered a seafood special that was served lukewarm and was not very fresh. When something is a special you would expect it to be freshly made... For the type of menu that they offered we will stick to the Ironbound. |
