Any recommendations on a bakery in the area that will make a nice simple wedding cake for about 120? The wedding is in late May, the bride and groom were ambivalent about the cake but have now decided to get one.

Bovellas in Westfield is great! I ordered my cake there for my wedding 2 years ago and it was delicious! Chocolate cake with chocolate fudge inside and white whipped cream on the outside. Best cake I ever had! It was enough for 150 people.

For real wedding cake excitement, try the Cake Diva in Hoboken (on Monroe Street):

I second Bovella's in Westfield. I got my wedding cake there, and we have been getting all of our special occassion cakes there for years. If you want to try and interesting and delicious twist, try a cake with cannoli cream filling! Yum! (Now I may need to get one for Mothers Day!)
