The Park Wood diner is supposed to open up next weekend. It replaces the Sage diner on Springfield Avenue. I'm told by those in the know that the place and the menu look great.

OMG Only us Pip. We drove by last week and I said to Mr. Shh, what a weird font to put on a diner sign.

I had the same reaction and I've heard others mention it also. |

Yep, we thought the same thing! But I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that the offbeat "sign" is a sign of something interesting to come. |

It reminds me of the logo for The Munsters.... I'll bet they do great business at Halloween. That font has a really ghostly, spooky feel to it. |

dego - it's a diner. I don't want "interesting" - I want "good diner"

I was really curious to see what everyone was talking about, so I just drove by the diner - I agree: terrible choice of font and color. But hey, now we all know it's there. And let's hope that Jeffl's advance intelligence on the food is correct. We could use a good diner. |

Actually, that menu looks great. Nice salads, grilled vegetable sandwich, spanakopita...Mmmm. We'll check it out! Always good to add another diner into the mix. |

I'm afraid to ask, but isn't "good diner" an oxymoron? I generally just order eggs in diners. My favorite is a florentine omelette: spinach and feta cheese. |

Tom - a good diner must have (IMHO): good coffee good french fries good Cobb Salad (my fave) also, good rice pudding!
