Has anyone eaten on the porch at the Huntley Taverne in Summit? I've never been but heard there was outside dining on the porch. I have a special occasion coming up and would like to dine outdoors if it is "special" and not just some tables set up outside. Comments anyone?

Carwash and pizzeria to the side. The tavern is OK, IMHO, but a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. Nice wine list and chart of beers, however.

The decor/structure of the building is the only thing that stands out. All else, food, service, is mediocre at best.

I have to agree. I think their sister restaurant (Trap Rock...New Providence??) is better. They have a beautiful room (you probably have to request a table there) that would be great for a special occasion. I think they also have outside seating

Trap Rock is in Berkeley Heights. Very nice. High prices but gourmet food. Good beer.

Huntley Taverne porch is a mess....near the weekend it is filled with the "happy hour" set after 5PM and during the daytime for the lunch set the traffic fumes and unappealing scenery does not make for a pleasant dining experience.
Trap Rock is wonderful and the food worth every penny!
