Has anyone tried this? I am daydreaming for now, but when my ship comes in I would happily pay for someone to shop and cook for me - all I'll do is defrost! |

Hmmm...that sounds like a plan, Mr. T. Actually, my job is a professional organizer! I wonder if I could organize for someone and he or she could cook for me??? |

My wife has a personal chef...and he's pretty unorganized. He also does garden work cheap and a variety of unskilled labor around the house. |

I have one, too. Seriously, I haven't cooked a meal (well, maybe two or three times a year) since we moved here 8 years ago. I grocery shop when the whim strikes me, which is very seldom. I'll do the occasional "we need eggs" drive-by. TS is going to retire in the next 5 years & talks about doing a personal chef bit. Small, local, just a few clients. Something to indulge her passion & make a little pocket money. We pretty much entertain just so she can cook. That's actually how she got into her side job of catering - we couldn't possibly afford to entertain as much as she would like to. So, it's no joke that I have a personal chef. If she doesn't cook, I get take out. If only she were this passionate about doing laundry.....

Hmmm, Purl, I may have to take you up on your offer. We've been in our house for nearly two years and we just can't seem to get organized. And although I'm not a professional chef, all my years in the family catering business have turned me into a pretty good cook. PL me if you want to discuss. |

Well, I'd like to donate my time to the Greentrees - just so TS can have a reason to cook & indulge her passion, mind you! ;-) I can say that Purlgrrl is an excellent organizer (as well as knitter, in case anyone needs to hire a personal one of those too!) |

Thank you, doulamomma, and thank you, Mr. T... and thanks for the three suggestions! I'm sold. Looks like Dego Diva, TS or Hank's wife's chef is looking at a more organized future. PL me if you'd like to barter. |

In December, we received a gift certificate for a personal chef. www.thepersonalchef.net -- Leslie lives here in Maplewood and is also the catering manager of the Short Hills Kings, I believe. It was one of the nicest gifts I've ever received! |

Purl - I just looked at your website. I am suddenly intrigued. Of course, I am also not the cook. How do you envision this working? Our basement work out room is just not working out..... Although, I don't know that it needs organizing as much as exorcism.... |

BTW - Doula- is there any way to have you take care of us without having a baby involved? |

Greenetree- I didn't mean to ignore you for so long. Actually, I private-messaged you but it bounced back over the weekend! I am thinking that I could organize your basement while your SO cooks - then at the end of the session, your basement is more organized and I have some meals to take home with me. |

Hey Purlgrrl, what do you like to eat? I can use help with MY basement too. For my menu, I'm thinking grilled salmon, grilled veggies, sesame noodles (or other). I also can make you a few quarts of marinara, puttanesca or vodka sauce. Let me know if you'd like to barter...I always make too much food (and never can organize well enough.) |

Purl - I'll ask the Chef! Try PL again, maybe something weird was going on. I get PLs all the time. |
