We went there last night for the first time. Didn't get there till almost 8:30. My husband was so thrilled to finally have a real diner nearby - he loves diner food as evidenced by his choice of dinner (Reuben) and his take home dessert (linzer torte since they didn't have sprinkle cookies). My son wanted a Monte Christo (why I don't know since he doesn't really like Swiss cheese so ate everything except that) which they created for him even though it wasn't on the menu. It looked great and I would advise checking out the French Toast for breakfast. I had one of the gourmet salads, can't remember the name, but it was delicious and came with excellent grilled chicken, portobello mushrooms, fresh mozzarella and arrugala. The balsamic vinagrette dressing was delish. I took half of it home to have for lunch today. The owner (who offered me a job once he found out I put myself through college waitressing at two Greek diners) is a doll and told me all the salad dressings are homemade. I think our bill came out to $32 which included the take home cookie, a soda and two coffees before I left the tip for the excellent, knowledgeable waitress. We will definitely return. |

This place sounds amazing. Good food, incredible prices, and warm service. What could be bad? Gotta try it soon. |

Duder, Although I am sure I have myself eyeballed a Greek chicken or two in my lifetime, I ordered the moussaka which did not look like any Greek chicken Ive ever laid eyes on. It was good..not great..but the salad that came with it was above average. We were a party of three, sitting in the booths along the Springfield Ave. front windows. The only thing I noticed that was wrong was on the kiddie place mat...the match the city to the country thing..they spelled Beijing "Peking". Someone ought to complain (and probably will!). |

Peking! Beyond complaining, there should be an actual boycott! I wonder if they have Chinese Roast Pork on garlic bread (a Queens diner staple). If so, they better not call it Red Chinese; talk about complaints then. Ella, ella! (Greek for "you slow waitress, come and pick up your food at the counter".) |

it will truly be a real diner experience if when I go for breakfast, and say "whiskey down" when I place my order, they bring out what I asked for. A NJ diner experience specifically if I order my french fries "fries with" and they get it right too. |

Also enjoyed the moussaka, which came with a very high quality greek "side salad" that could have been a small meal in itself. I got takeout, and was the only person there. Hope word gets out about this place. |

Wendy: Growing up in Hewlett, I was addicted to the Chinese Roast Pork on Garlic Bread at The Suburban (long gone now), and now I get my fix at the Ritz Diner in Livingston. -s. BTW: ... and it's Kosher! How do they do it??? |

A Long Island boy; how about that. I grew in Little Neck, Queens but really a poor cousin to Great Neck (West Egg vs. East Egg, you know). I lived on the poor side of town, however, in the garden apartment complex less than 5 blocks or so from the city line. NYC department of transportation actually thought we were in Nassau given how they plowed our area. The Scobee Diner is still there (worked there) and I also worked at the Old Brookville. My cantor and I have had several talks about why I'm not Kosher and will never be Kosher. Among other valid reasons I have put forth, I should add to the discussion that it would be denying my teen year late night memories of enjoying the above Kosher fare.

It's actually closer to South Pierson (although the far corner is I think Broadview) and you can drive up South Pierson and take a right into the parking lot before you get to Springfield if you're coming in that direction. |
