I guess this belongs in several sections on the board but it's mostly food, so... I just found out about a company that has an interesting gift certificate concept. Basically, for a flat price you buy a gift box with a theme, and in the gift box, the recipient can pick one of 12 gift certificate choices. So for instance, if you choose the "Classes" box, the recipient can choose which type of class he/she want to go to (pottery, scuba, etc.) at reputable NYC companies. And prices seem reasonable. I've never tried it but it sounds cool, so I thought I'd share: www.giftybox.com |

I looked at the website - what a cool idea! I'm bookmarking it - it's perfect for the occasional corporate gift I need. |

hmmm... general opinion- i am a college student and i forgot to get my cousin a present for her 19th birthday (Apr. 30th). She has had a really hard first year at school and is laying it on really thick that i forgot to get a present... is $49 too much to spend on her? I think she would really like the classes one... especially since she loves to try new things... any insight would be appreciated? |

Well, hmmm, that's a hard call. When I was in collge, $49 was a bit of a stretch for me, and I never got gifts for/from cousins. But then again, if you have a close relationaship with your cousin, and you're not too strapped for cash, then sure, $49 is fine. If you can't afford it, maybe you can go halfsies with someone else on it? |
