OK, made it last night. I'm suitably impressed. I enjoyed my meal and I asked for my sweet potato french fries well done and they came out PERFECT. Definitely the best thing I had last night. Crunchy and sweet and yummy. I could nit pick but you know what it's a diner, and I can eat there. That in itself is a miracle. I'm pleased. |

If AlleyGater liked it, you know it's good. I could nit pick, too, but man, were they eager to please! My wife had salmon broiled in garlic. I thought it was nuts to order fresh fish in a diner, but damn, it was good. It was supposed to come with a potato, and she didn't want that, so they sauteed up some greens just for her. Very accomodating, and they did a very good job.

I went and really liked it! First off, the bean salad they start you with is great! I had a chicken gyro, and it came with a good sized greek salad AND fries. Plus the chicken was real chicken breast, not the processed chicken that usually comes with chicken gyros. There was so much I couldn't finish it. Service was a little rough around the edges, but courteous nonetheless. I'm hoping to make it there this weekend to try out breakfast, although I'm sad that they don't have Huevos Rancheros like the Park West Diner does. I'm looking forward to going back! |

I saw Huevos Rancheros on the menu. I'm sure of it. |

I had the chicken gyros too, and the Diva is correct - delicious, huge portions, a humongous greek salad on the side, and terrific fries - crispy outside, fluffy in the middle - and free refills on the (unsweetened - YAY!) iced tea. As we sat down, the waitress brought us a diner-equivalent of an amuse bouche - a plate of pickled beets, that were very yummy (and on the house). And the price is extremely reasonable - I think it was $7.95 for all of that (plus maybe $1.50 for the tea). |

Shhh - there was a breakfast quesadilla, but no rancheros. But I'll check again when I go for breakfast this weekend. |

We are going to have to try it out. The family usually goes the Mapleleaf once a week, and lately it has been mediocre at best. |

Dego, maybe you're right, but it had the eggs, salsa, guac and everything else I'd think of in huevos rancheros. Looked good! |

I didn't see any black beans on the menu -- which is the only missing ingredient for Huevos Rancheros. They had every other ingredient as far as I could tell including nachos. |

They make a fantastic black bean soup so black beans are likely in the kitchen too. Try asking if they can make the Huevos Rancheros for you. They seemed very accomodating re: special orders when we were there. |

We ended up at the Park Wood for lunch today sort of by default as The MapleLeaf and Bagel Chateau were too crowded. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. The food was good and they did everything we asked like hiding the french fries from our 3 year old so she'd eat her meal. We'll definitely go back and were excited to learn that they'll be doing delivery soon too. |

Also dined at Park Wood for lunch today. Great banana pancakes (with fresh bananas in the batter), but my eggs were a bit on the runny side. Friendly staff. All in all, a good diner experience and worthy of continued patronage. |

I went there for lunch the other day. I was not that impressed. The girlfriend got a salad which she enjoy. (Good presentation and healthy portion) I got a cheese-steak. I don't recommend trying it. We ordered an appitizer, but it came out with the rest of the food, and as a smoker I hated the fact it was no smoking. |

I am thrilled that they serve Eggs Benedict, usually they are hard to find, (except at high end places) had them yesterday and they were great! |

Sorry to have been less than impressed Saturday evening. Two of our group never got their vegetables; two were served several minutes before the others. The portions were huge! Since we have been reading all about supersizing in America, I would have preferred normal size portions! The place looked so much better than the Sage, the help very friendly. The spouse's fish filet had bones in it - a total turnoff! My fish supposedly had a scampi sauce, but you couldn't tell that by me. No garlic flavor, just very oily lemony, thick sauce. In my desire to enjoy the new Park Wood, I had forgotten my age old adage: When eating in diners, eat diner food. I will try again, however.
