Wife and I felt that breakfast was adequate but not better than any of the other diners in the area. We decided we would go back and try again for breakfast to give them the benefit of the doubt. Not bad, but also not superlative. Regardless, we will still continue to go for lunch and dinner.

Tried the Parkwood, and was disappointed. Three sandwiches and onion rings on Saturday at 2:30pm took FOREVER. Two of the sandwiches were incorrect -- no tomatoe, not toasted -- and the chicken salad had no chunks of chicken -- only finely grated commercial salad. Potato salad arrived with carrots, after we explicitly nixed the cole slaw because it contained carrots.

I love a good diner, but the Parkwood needs some service/kitchen quality assurance. When we pointed out the problems with our order, waitress said, "Oh yeah, you're right."

I'll have to check it out next time I'm in town. If it's anything like the other location (The ParkWest), it HAS to be good. The ParkWest has excellent food....and coffee too!!!

I know you like weak coffee. The coffee at the Parkwod when I was there was a teensy bit stronger than typical dishwater diner coffee. Probably a good compromise for us!

Can someone please tell me where the Park West Diner is on Springfield? I am not familiar with the old Sage location...trying to think of where it may be off the top of my head. I need a diner to take some out of town guests tomorrow for lunch.

Thanks!

With apologies to Laurie Anderson, ...

If you don't like landmark references to the past, try one that refers to the future. The Parkwood Diner is on the site where, about ten years from now, someone on the Township Committee will consider having a Walmart and apartment complex erected.

We have already been to Parkwood Diner 5 times since they opened. (1x for lunch, 2x for breakfast and 2x for dinner). The food has been very very good each time, the service has been good to erratic. I think some of the wait staff is very new to the profession and don't know how to properly do their thing. This coupled with ignorance about the menu and "what comes with that!!" are our minor complaints about the place. We are overjoyed to have them as an alternative diner dining choice in this area. They will work the "kinks" out.

P.S. We both are good cooks and love to cook at home but these days have been exceedingly busy with getting ready to move back to Chicago (see another post) and therefore welcome the diner specially that it is not "fast" food but the best diner alternative within 2 miles of our house (Maplewood Diner, Mapleleaf diner, Blue Moon Diner and Millburn Diner being the other choices)

Absolutely loved the Parkwood Diner. They were friendly, clean and the food was excellent. My kids were thrilled to try the new diner. We will definitely be back!
