My neighbor is looking for suggestions for where to have a good but very quick dinner after CHS graduation next week. If I understand it correctly, the ceremony is somewhere in or near Newark and then the kids report back to the school around 8:30 - 9:00 for Midnight Madness. Can anyone recommend a place along the route home or near the school for a nice but fast dinner that night? I told her I'd ask MOLers for some suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Lot 15 in SO. It's near Columbia. I've eaten there twice in the past week and service was pretty fast. Maybe Libretti's in Orange?

Libretti's is it! The two times my kids graduated (2002, 2000,) the place was filled with CHS alums
(after all it is AFTER graduation is held)> Anyway, it was fun seeing all the parents and kids together there. Service is fast and they seemto know that the kids need to head out quickly. Make a reservation from your car on the way there after the ceremony. That way a table will be waiting.

Great suggestions, thanks. I'll let her know. Do you recall about what time the graduation ceremony ends? My neighbor was thinking about having other family members and friends meet them at the restaurant. I think she is limited on how many people can attend the ceremony.

My lesson learned last year---make plans with your kids on where to meet after the ceremony--
it was chaos and we had to skip dinner becasue she got lost in the crowd, so to speak.

Lots of Portugese places in Newark nearby
