What's the name of that Mexican restaurant in the middle of nowhere in Meyersville? Thanks.

Review: Way out there, somewhere "in the middle of nowhere", is this "funky" Meyersville Mexican cantina that comes in a size "small", but where folks take a ticket and endure "long waits" to corral a table; fans say it's the "only game around" - albeit a "good" one; P.S. strictly a BYO operation, so "don't forget" to bring a side order of "Coronas."

just visited casa maya last night actually. it was really good... great service, fresh ingredients, very kid friendly and inexpensive for the quality and amount of food served.

like the review says... it's way out there and pretty small... so i'd say no large groups.

highly recommend it.

I have been there a few times, but not recently. Always had good service, and the food was always good. It is very small. Nice place for dinner for too though, and a bottle of wine.

Best Mexican restaurant in northern NJ, bar none.

Bring a six-pack or bottle of wine and be prepared to wait, though--it gets crowded in the summer.

Every time I have gone there it was pretty late (after 9:00) and the longest I had to wait there was about 10 minutes. I have heard that earlier in the night the wait can be pretty long.

Directions: Travel west on 124 into the center of Chatham. Turn left on Fairmount Avenue. Cross over Southern Blvd (little church on the left). Continue on Fairmount until you reach Meyersville Road. Turn right on Meyersville Road and continue into Long Hill Township until you see the restaurant on your left. It's in the middle of nowhere, so don't expect a commercial area. Total travel time is about 25 minutes -- but it's a nice excursion.

I remember years ago when that was a Lousiana-style restaurant. So they served swamp food in the swamp.

Very kid-friendly. But a tight squeeze, so don't go with a crowd.

Tom, you are thinking of the Meyersville Inn, which is across the circle.

The guy who owns Casa Maya also owned Jose's in New Providence, but he may have sold it.
