Wife and I went to Traprock Satuday night on the reccomendation of someone here on the board. Thanks to whomever that was. We had a really nice evening. I love good beer so I appreciated the micro-brews (especially the Commitment Ale). The food was definitely a step up from regular NJ fare. I wasn't BLOWN away by the meal, and it was definitely pricy but overall we really enjoyed the night out. Pretty good food, very imaginative ingredient combinations which I really appreciate, pretty good service (although we did have one or two glitches which were remedied immediately), and tasty beer. WE WERE SO STUFFED WHEN WE LEFT. So the food was good enough that we couldn't stop eating. :-) Berkeley Heights is just under 20 minute drive on 78 (I timed it) which surprised me. Unfamiliar with the area, I didn't realize that Springfield Avenue goes ALL WAY there. So I drove home that way. Took longer but was very cool getting to know new areas like that. What is not to like?

I'm not sure we want to spend upwards of $100 for two people on a regular basis, but we would definitely consider going back for a nice/fun evening. Great reccomendation guys. Thanks.

Haven't been there in a few years. I went there on business a couple of times. I think in both cases, the company paid for my meal. It's very good. Two things I always appreciate are cloth napkins and good silverware. Those may seem trivial, but I feel like the business appreciates my patronage when they use these things.

You also should check out its sister restaurant, the Huntley Tavern, in Summit. I believe they serve the same microbrews.
