I happened to run into the new owner of the Cheese/Sandwich store last night and he said the soft opening was today. Picked up a menu and there are some delish looking sandwiches listed. I wish them luck. Can't wait to try the bbq pork and sloppy joe

My two favorite sandwiches are on the menu -- pulled pork and cuban.

It's where Carmelita's was - right by Kim's Nails and Terra (American Fare).

The BBQ pork sandwich was very nice - just had one!

In Maplewood Village near Town Video, where Carmalita's was. My friend used them for catering a party last weekend before they even opened. Delicious sandwiches, salads. Great people, great citizens of Maplewood; I wish them the best.

It's where Carmelita's used to be. I think I must go try that for lunch!

They are unofficially open today..officially tomorrow.

I had my first Crane's sandwich..a very good Cuban sandwich on really good bread. Also a fresh housemade lemon-limeade. Good list..not too wild but with enough variety. Also a cheese section already in place with a Ploughman's Lunch daily special on the menu (four cheeses, fresh fruit, baguette). The muffaletta sandwich with the housemade olive spread looked great too. There will be daily soups and salads specials (some of the salads on the catering menu look great). "Kids menu" has chicken fingers, PB&J, hot dog, grilled cheese sticks. Looks like a really good addition run by really good people.

1) Do they have a website?
2) Do they deliver (at lunch time specifically)?

Ploughman's Lunch? Wow, reminds me of all those pubs in England where

"Oy've 'ad me a point an' a ploughmans...."

Oddly enough, Soulful Mr. T, my husband flew off to London tonight and I'll be joining him on Sunday morning. He asked me what I'd like to do after he meets me at Heathrow and my first thought was to go and have a nice pub lunch (preferably at a country or riverside pub - possibly in Statford-Upon-Avon or Warwick on the way to my sister's house) and wash it down with a nice local beer, maybe Flower's or Marston's. Can't wait.

A proper Ploughman's lunch will consist of: either a large wedge of cheese or slice of liver pate, a large crusty bread roll (aka 'bap' in some parts) with butter, a small side salad, sometimes apple slices....and an absolute must is 'Branston' pickle. It's not a Ploughman's without the 'Branston'!

You can buy jars of 'Crosse and Blackwell' brand "Branston Pickle" in King's....it's wonderful with cheese on crackers or bread. It's a slightly sweet, fruity pickle as opposed to a sour-tasting one.

Had the BBQ pork sandwich last night. It was good, but I think it could have been a little more tangy. My wife loved her grilled veggie sandwich. We also had some home-made bbq potato chips and lemonade. Price point is low and quality is high....a good combination

Ah, Branston Pickle. Yes, Toe, it is key to happiness. (My Kentish wife will tell you that Marmite is key, but to that I say "yeeech.") And an integral part of a Ploughmans. We buy huge jars of Branston every time we go to England. Great with cheese, as you say, especially extra sharp Vermont cheddar, but also with pate, with eggs and on a leftover chicken sandwich.

Got a wedge of smoked Gouda yesterday which I am eating now and can report that it is yummy. Also got a wedge of Stilton but haven't had it yet. All the chesses are cut to order from the main wheel. I requested a 1/2 pound of Stilton and got 2/3s and a slightly smaller wedge of Gouda and got a 1/4. Not a big deal and I am sure, with experience, this will get worked out.

There are a few tables and chairs in the front window. The 3 people behind the counter and the owner were very eager and friendly. They had out lots of samples that looked good (didn't have any due to food allergies). I wish them well.

I'm really excited - a good deli/sandwich place is really going to clean up in that location.

We purchased a few wedges of cheese for our 4th of July picnic and Chef Dave's recommendations were on the mark. Yummy! Can't wait to get together our picnic basket for Maplewoodfest!

Enjoyed a tasty muffaleta sandwich and cream soda, today, served up by friendly owner and staff. Nice addition to downtown Maplewood.

Tried Crane's today, lovely staff, one of whom was very helpful in selecting some cheeses for gifts. Nice selection. A plus for Maplewood.
