Saffron is decent, but very expensive compared to most Indian restaurants around here. For that $$$, I would rather go to Mogul in Edison. |

Begum Palace in Madison has very good Indian food. They're in the Staples Shopping Center, 300 Main St., Madison. We enjoyed the buffet and they were very friendly to our small kids. |

Begum is amazing with small children...I remember once (a few years ago) when we were having a bad restaurant day with our baby, the female owner came over, picked up our daughter, and walked with her, cooing at her, while we gobbled our dinners (a great alternative to taking turns taking her outside!). I've never again tipped so much as a percent of the bill! |

I like Saffron, and my coworkers from India also like it. It is more expensive, but it has fabulous decor, and the food is high quality. Their food is not very spicy, though, it is catered to American stomachs. Mogul in Morristown is also popular. |
