We're planning a long weekend in the Poconos with 2 or 3 other families over New Year's Eve. I was hoping to find a central site online where I could peruse the various options for 3/4 bedroom homes, but I'm not having any luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions of specific communities/areas/towns/homes to check out?

Thanks!

Try poconolakerealty.com. There are several communities listed with vacation rental possibilities. We've used it in the past with great success. We live in the Pocono Mountains, so if you'd like to PL me about anything, please feel free.

phyllis, I'm amazed and impressed that you're even thinking about New Year's Eve at this point. But then, that may be why I never have a plan when New Year's rolls around. If you're not completely set on renting a house, may I suggest the following:

www.thesettlersinn.com

Really nice place, great food. I'd love to stay there myself but it hardly seems justified when the family vacation home is 15 minutes away on Lake Wallenpaupak.

Check it out.

Wanted to add that I have no idea what they do for NYE, if anything.

I know it seems way in advance, but we're trying to find a house that can accommodate 4 families (8 adults and 5 kids under age 5.) We did it last year and it was the best NYE in a long time. The kids all went to bed and we hit the hot tub, played games and had a blast. We rented in western Maryland at Deep Creek Lake, and when we finally got around to booking stuff in September, we missed some choice homes.

But thanks everyone for the website suggestions - they have been a big help. Exwoodgirl - I may take you up on your offer if I have questions.
