We liked JJ's in Millburn and miss it for a number of reasons, namely the food. Jade-something that took over just isn't as good and they aren't even nice. Hunan Wok on Springfield is hit and miss. And while I respect that some like it, Bill and Harry's isn't our cup of tea. Lately when I really want Chinese take-out, I just get grumpy instead at the lack of choices. Being grumpy and hungry is no fun. If you used to frequent JJ's, where do you go now? |

We're in the same boat! We were big JJ's fans and are really missing our Chinese food. |

We like the place across from South Mountain Arena. Make sure that you request the smaller, "special" menu, which typically is given only to Chinese customers, and round-eye devils who request it. (If you immediately request pickled cabbage and peanuts, instead of western fried noodles and hot 'n sour sauce, your waiter automatically may extend non-round-eye devil courtesies to you.) |

We found excellent Chinese food in Florham Park at a place called, of all things, China Chalet. It's on Columbia Turnpike, westboud side, in the little shopping center next to Trader Joe's. Not as convenient as JJ's, of course, but it is good. |

Wow, I only have to travel like 20 minutes to get some decent affordable chinese. How I love N.J. As for close by Chinese, I stand by Bill and Harry's in Maplewood Village for pickup (it's adequate) and for delivery Ginger Taste in Milburn (Pan Asian is close enough for me and it's tasty). |

The place across from the arena is: Joy Luck Chinese Pavillion 555 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052 (973) 243-9288 And, they serve authentic dim sum on weekends. And, it's only five minutes from S.O.: http://yellowpages.superpages.com/supermaps/mapinit.jsp?LID=2015539600&STYPE=S&l at=40769881&lng=-74281297&POI1name=Joy+Luck+Chinese+Pavillion&POI1lat=040769881& POI1lng=-074281298&streetaddress=555+Northfield+Avenue&city=West+Orange&state=NJ &zip=07052&C=restaurants&L=West+Orange+NJ&OO=1&PP=L&MC=1&STYPE=S&F=1&CP=Food+%26 +Dining%5ERestaurants%5EChinese&MAPWIDTH=640&MAPHEIGHT=480&level=8#Map |

Just to jump into the fray: Bill and Harry's is some of the best Chinese I've ever had. I think I even saw Reingold in there once. Though I didn't introduce myself. |

We like Ginger Taste in Millburn. Never had JJ's though so not sure how it compares. |

You should have introduced yourself. Bill and Harry's "Shrimp in Spicy Tea Sauce" is my favorite. Try it! Alleygater, sorry you're having such a tough time as a Jerzoid.

It ain't that I'm having a tough time with NJ, but admittedly the Chinese is sub-par to what I got in the city, WHICH DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME. |

East Garden in West Orange (PV Way - near Metropolitan Plant XChange) delivers to South Orange -- at least to the Newstead area. |

I like the Sesame Chicken at B&H -- the kid LOVES Seame so that is a must. The thing is the other paces where I like the food better -- the two in WO who's names I forget -- the Sesame is gross (though he still eats it). I really want to try Cathay 22 -- maybe tonight we will do that. |
