We are having a BBQ for about 50 people...so doing everything ourselves would be alot of work!
Does anyone know if there's a place out there that can help out with our BBQ?

Thanks!

Crane's Deli. Good food and service available and I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

Heart and Soul doesa really good job at preparing the ribs right up until the point where you just put them on the grill with the BBQ sauce. Give Chef Jesse a call.

Church's Kitchen on Springfield Avenue. Fantastic food, super friendly, and -- best of all -- pretty cheap.

Do you just need a helpful soul to work the grill? I might know someone who might enjoy helping out at a family bar-b-que.

Speaking of Famous Dave's I stopped in for dinner on Thursday after an afternoon of fun at Bowcraft (yippee) and was pleasantly surprised. Very kid friendly, clean, hokey-fun decor and really good ribs (plus delicious homemade fries). If you are in the 22 area with kids this is a great option.

www.picnicsunlimited.com has everything! It was recommended to me by a friend who used it for a personal party and I used them for a corporate event. They are affordable and offer anything you can think of.

Lutz's Pork Store in Union will do whole-hog, with attendant butcher. They cook it part-way, then bring it over on their trailer-slash-cooker to finish it. I think it's $350.

Chef Jesse, Heart & Soul's owner and chef, also will cater and stay on-site to run your BBQ, cooking his ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. for your guests. His restaurant is on Academy Street in S.O.

Give him a call at (973) 763-9005 (http://www.heartandsoulrestaurant.com/)

We catered a bbq for 77 people recently. We did the burgers, hot dogs, and baked beans ourselves, and brought the rest in. (Well, except some relatives also made deviled eggs and a couple of desserts.) We got sloppy joe platters, potato salad, and pasta salad from millburn deli, and corn on the cob, chicken nuggets and fries (for the kids) from Church's Kitchen.

We would've had the beans catered too - church's, millburn deli, and famous daves all do them - but they're easy to do, and we just liked ours the best by far.

Because I'm originally from the South, I always get excited when I hear about BBQ - thinking ribs, pulled pork, etc. - only to later realize it's just what we referred to as "grilling out"...

My heart soared earlier this summer when I asked my 7 year old daughter about the barbecue she has just attended and she sadly replied, "it wasn't a barbecue, we had hot dogs."

At least she knows the difference. Above 250 degrees, it's grilling.

We just had a BBQ at our house for 55 adults 14 kids and did it brazilian rodizio style. The name of the restaurant it Boi Na Brasa they are located on Merchant St in Newark. They came to the house with their own BBQ pit all different types of meat, sausage, chicken, turkey wrapped in bacon, patato salad, green salad, rice, beans, french fries (made on the spot) and much more. Oh they also bring plates and silverware. It was AMAZING!! If anyone has an interest let me know and I will post the number (dont have it on me now).

A client of mine who lives in the Ironbound Section of Newark and is Portuguese, actually gave me the name of this restaurant as a favorite of her family. We have eaten there and hade excellent food in pleasant surroundings...
