How warm can I expect in Florida for Christmas? Looking at Palm Beach area or maybe Marco Island on the Gulf. |

75 degrees tops I think. We were there last Christmas and it was great weather for walking on the beach. It was windy. We did swim a bit -- though the kiddo got stung by a man-o-war (he was very brave about it). We stay in Deerfield Beach which is maybe 30 miles south of Palm Beach. |

My father in law lives in West Palm and says it is beautiful around that time of year. We were thinking of cashing in on the Jet Blue saver fairs, $59 each way I think and going over the Winter Break. |

As long as you don't need to swim, it can be lovely. Just take jackets as well as swimsuits, because you might want either! |

We aren't ocean swimmers but using the pools would be nice if it were warm enough. We are trying to decide between southern Florida and Bahamas (Atlantis). Honestly the average temperature doesn't seem that different between the two. |

Alg, where in Deerfield do you stay (if it isn't with family)? I was just looking at the Lago Mar in Ft Lauderdale, looks pretty nice and kid-friendly. |

We stay at the Howard Johnson's -- it is NOTHING fancy but we like the area (sort of honky-tonk) and it's right at the Deerfield Beach pier (and there's a neat little restaurant at the end of the pier) and across from a few fun bar/restaurants. It's clean and nice. Our family favorite bar/restuarant is one called the Whale's Rib. In the past we've stayed at Embassy Suites also -- it's nicer and includes free breakfast and happy hour drinks. The Embassy Suites is nice and has a nice pool and beach but it's NO Atlantis or Lago Mar. Last spring someone posted a hotel/resort on the west coast --maybe a Hyatt -- which looked interesting. |

My Mom lives in Key Biscayne and we often visit during Xmas. We had a few cool vacations but, I believe it's a little warmer there and we always were able to swim at least part of our vacation. Men-O War and Sting Rays are pretty abundant tho, ya have to watch out for em. |
