Normally, I do not post here in this section. I just feel compelled to thank the staff at St.James Gate for an AWESOME evening. Obviously it ended early on a work night(note post time).

The service was 100% on. The food excellent. Not to mention $2.00 pint night. Thanx!!!!

I will return as often as possible.

I was there last night also. One of the things that made me very happy was the fact that "Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits was playing when I walked in. The Dire Straits continued for close to an hour. Since they were my favorite band in high school I was in my heaven. Plus, the food was great...pan seared salmon cooked to perfection, roasted chicken. It was indeed a good night at the pub.

I was there last night, too. I actually pointed out the Dire Straits thing in my other post in the South Orange(?)section ...seems like they are always playing when I go in there.

We also had the seared salmon and roasted chicken. Salmon was great, chicken was tough and chewy...not sure if that means it was undercooked or overcooked. Every other time I've had that dish, it's been excellent though.

Anyway, overall it was a good night, and really busy for late on a Tuesday night. I'm glad we have that place in town.

The Gate is great. And yes 2 dollar pints (although they aren't really pints). Jimmy the bartender is sarcastic and funny.

I was also at the Gate last night - enjoying my $2 pints and an absolutely FANTASTIC swordfish meal. (Just FYI - the pint special doesn't start 'till 8) The live jazz duo was great - a friend of mine didn't even realize it was live music until they stopped. I think I may become a Tuesday regular.
