Where is Terra located? Can anyone offer any feedback on the type of fare/atmosphere offered there? |

Terra is on Maplewood Avenue in Maplewood, downtown, right next to the video store. Haven't been there since it changed hands, so I can't comment on the food. |

Terra has quickly become our favorite place in the village to eat. Being able to have a cocktail at the pub and then stroll down the street with a bottle of wine for some good eats is really nice. The atmosphere is laid back, casual, and romantic. The inside is like a Van Gogh painting. The food has been absolute every time we've went and the service is hard to match. (There are older threads about this). They really cater to our needs and are willing to experiment. Really a great place...check them out. |

We went there a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Wonderful food and service. I would definitely go back! |

Mary Flannery and I have seemed to agree on the greatness of Terra from the get go. She seems to have said eveything and I agree. My wife and I seem to go there at least once a week. The waiter (no offense but that does look like him) is always happy to see us and really treats us nice. We are going in tomorrow night (Thursday) to try some of this jerk chicken with mango salsa and guacamole. Mmmm. Cheers |

Jerk Chicken with Mango Salsa and Guacamole! Really? God that sounds fantastic! Let us know how it is Agent. Is that something that's always on the menu or is it a special? |

went to terra tonite w/ the spouse after reading this thread and a friend's recommendation. the jerk chicken was good. wife also enjoyed her ribs. jerk chicken was accompanied by the mango salsa and guac, both wonderful. the chef even spiced up the chicken more for me like i requested. unfortunately, for a friday night, they were not busy. i don't know how long they'll be able to stick around. although the wait staff was attentive, it took a while to get our appetizer and main course. the kitchen may be understaffed. i also noticed that others had to wait for their food. sincerely hope that they can get more clientele and speed up the food or they may follow the way of american fare.

Can anyone tell me what type of food it is, and if they ordered anything that was particularly excellent? Also, does anyone have a phone number? (I called 411 and they have no such listing...??) |

Since they kept most of the dishes from American Fare, many people will be familiar with the menu and it's all good. They seem to be mixing in new dishes gradually and we like that since American Fare was our favorite place to eat in town. I usually get a salad to start and have whatever fish is on or sometimes just have the gnocchi as a main course. In the summer (like now) they usually have a mixed tomato appetizer that I love. My spouse usually gets whatever spicy item they have. They do great things with sausage. Many people rave about the meat loaf, but I don't care for it. Just not my taste, I guess. The roast chicken is great, but quite a large meal. Hope that helps. R |
