Any suggestions for good restaurants in the Charlevoix region of Quebec province -- especially near La Malbaie? |

Our best meal in a short visit to the area was at a restaurant named something like Trois Canards (name is a pun, since it was founded by three docs!). Up on a hill with lovely food, gorgeous view, and gave our 5-year-old the same food as the adults and then didn't charge her for it! If I recall, the moderate place in the Malbaie Fairmont was disappointing. The very upscale place was very good, and the hotel worth a visit to walk on the terrace (also has a casino, if you care). The whale watching cruise a bit further east was also amazing, by the way. Have a great trip |

We were in QC and Charlevoix in June. About 30 minutes south of La Malbaie is Baie St. Paul. The best food (a venison filet) I had during our trip was at La Muse: 39, rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste; Phone: (418) 435-6839; 1 800 841-6839. They specialize in regional cuisine. Our innkeeper recommended it. La Muse is also an inn but we didn't stay there. There are several restaurants in BSP, ranging from bland to excellent. If you don't already have the info: http://www.tourisme-charlevoix.com/en/restauration/index.asp Bon Voyage. |

Two Senses: If possible, you should not miss Ristigouche, at the juncture of NB, Quebec and Maine. Lovely inn there, (Ristigouche Lodge, I believe) incredible scenery, great food.
