I'm not kidding. I was the last one to arrive at the restaurant & lo and behold - Jodie was our waitress! We had the best time and the most wonderful meal. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the offerings and the ingredients. She made wonderful suggestions. Everyone was delighted. One friend and I had the sea scallops; TS had a braised beef dish and the other friend had meatloaf. The beet & apple salad was amazing. Oh - the desserts. Banana chocolate chip cake; cherry cobbler; peach cobbler and an unspeakably sinful chocolate ice cream cookie sandwich. This was, without a doubt, the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had. IMHO, there are now two places in MSO where dessert is as good as the entrees: Terra and Cafe Arugula. I would go to either just for dessert and coffee. Everything about the whole evening was ten thumbs up. Thanks to Pete and Jodie* for a wonderful dinner. *She may not have actually been the Jodie Foster. But she sure is a dead-ringer

LOL, now that 411 is supposed to have our name and phone number straightened out, I'm expecting to spend the next few days fielding Jodie Foster calls! Ha ha. "Jodie" and I had a good laugh before leaving when we saw the title of your thread. Glad you all enjoyed yourselves. BTW, the Banana Chocolate Chip Cake and that Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich -- Baci as we call it -- are two of my personal faves (and the cobbler, and... LOL), so I'm doubly glad you so enjoyed them. |

Greenetree, I was thrilled when Pete showed me your message. I was so thrilled in fact I created a screen name just to reply. I am thrilled that you and your friends had a great time and enjoyed the service and food as well. It was my pleasure to serve you all. You guys were a great table to wait on. Mostly, because I got to be myself and was able to joke with you. You guys truly made my evening. Oh- We are seriously considering having the " Soul Food Sunday" I myself have just moved from FL and often find myself missing that home cooked soul food meal. I will convince him to do it, even if I have to use my "Annie's" (grandma) recipes and cook it myself. Thank you for all the nice things you had to say about the restaurant and I. I hope to see you guys soon. Although, I will be leaving on Sunday to go home for 4 days and as I am eating my soul food meal I will think of you and will be watching Ellen to see if my picture happens to come across the screen. Once thank you for your kindness and hope to see you soon. Your waitress and celeb look a like, Jodie A.K.A BJ
