Thinking of going here tonight since we have a sitter. Has anyone been here and can provide some feedback? Any other suggestions for a romantic dinner in the area? |

I have been to Pappilon a couple of times and have always enjoyed it. I think it is more of a fun place to go with a group of people than a romantic dinner. Romantic dinners I would say Jocylene's (although I have not been there with the new owner, Terra or Verjus. All excellent |

Call Antonella's and see if they still have a table for tonight. It's right across the street from Pappilon and is BYOB. Highly recommended, but very small, the tables fill up fast. |

Last time we went to Pappilon we had a 7:30 reservation and they kept us waiting till 9. I find the bar crowd obnoxious and loud. Food was good, loved the way the plates came out too. |

You actually waited 1 1/2 hours for a table? With a reservation?? No way I would have waited, there's plenty of places for good food, just look at all of the recomendations above. |

I agree, I think after a half hour I would have walked out. There are too many good restaurants in the area to put up with that. |

Hi. Where and what is Terra, Red? Same about Antonellas, Strings? Papillon: loud, SMOKY, $$$$ and I couldn't get past the first two to try dinner. Also, I wouldn't wait 1.5 hours to eat ANYWHERE, much less some joint that stole some much needed maneuvering room from an occasionally interesting liquor store (!) I did once have some good scotch on a slow night at the bar. MSG, how did the plates come out? Do you mean you liked the presentation of the food? Dine well, all. David |

I was most suprised to discover that The Manor in West Orange was a delightful and terribly romantic experience. They have a grand Piano in the center of the round room, elegant decor and a very accommodating staff. Really very romantic but you must go to the dining room not the buffet. Completely different experience. |

Antonella's is on Village Plaza - the small, one-way side street that connects SO Ave to Valley, it's not far from Papillion at all... kind of across the street from Toro Loco, I guess. I've only been there 3 times, but everytime has been better than the last. |

Dear All, Yes, 1 1/2 hours is ridiculous. The people we were with insisted on staying plus the manager kept saying only 15 minutes. The presentation and the dinnerware are beautiful. We actually like Garlic Rose in Madison the best. We tell them "light on the garlic" when necessary. |

I second Antonella's...we've gone a dozen times and had a great meal every time. |

Antonella's has become one of my favorite places. The owners are from Italy and have owned several other restaurants. He told us they will soon be expanding. |

Isn't Pappilon owned by the same person that owns the liquor store next door? I heard that he bought the liquor license of the Shoprite liquor store when it was forced out, now he has a seperate license for each establishment, meaning that he could sell the restaurant (including the newly purchased license) for more than he could if he didn't have it. Of course this doesn't mean that he is looking to sell it. |

I have dined a number of times at Papillon, with reserved table, and have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. What gives? |
