Bunny's has THE BEST eggplant parm. It reminds me of how my mother used to make it. I have been searching for a good eggplant parm for many years. Yay for me

Trattoria's is just as good, minus the smoke!! Their sauce is fresh and chunky. I always ask for the eggplant parm sub without the bread. The portion is huge.

I don't like the tattoria's eggplant parm - I've tried it a few times and almost inevitably disappointed.

I agree with heart_rn, though. I've had Bunny's eggplant parm and it is pretty darn close to the way my Italian grandmother used to make it. And if you sit on the bistro side, there is no smoke.

I have little to contribute to this thread other than that i once had an eggplant parm sandwich at DePietro's on Springfield Ave, and i wasn't that into it. The eggplant slices were way thick, which wasn't my style. (Other sandwiches of theirs have been quite good.)

What qualities make Bunnys'/your grandmothers' so good?

Based on the recommendations here, I had an eggplant parmigian sandwich at Bunny's tonight.

Delectable.

Make sure to order it crispy so the edges on the roll are slghtly toasted. Yummy!

I can't believe I've never had EP at B's before. But now I know.

Antonio's Mozzerela Factory makes a really amazing eggplant parm on Fridays and Saturdays, in tin pans so you can just throw it in the oven. $7 worth was two large meals for my husband and I.

the eggplant parm at the roman gourmet is amazing. i'm used to traditional italian eggplant parm, and this is better. you have to try it.

I love eggplant parm, but don't like the Village Trattoria version. Their red sauce is too sweet.

How come sometimes, just sometimes, there is a metallic taste to eggplant? It really ruins it for me.
