I have always like the Trap Rock in Berkeley Heights, but mostly for the micro brews and atmosphere. I always thought the menu was too full of itself and didn't find much that floated my boat. But the wife and I returned there over the weekend and I was happy to see a more eclectic menu and specials. Both of our dinners were EXCELLENT. I had beef satay, hanger steak with garlic mashed potatoes, and a warm chocolate pudding cake that was to die for. My wife had a crispy calamari salad that was slightly spicy and delicious (she shared) and crab fritters and scallops (perfectly prepared) followed by a yummy banana cake with chocolate sauce. On top of that, the service was excellent and pleasant. Total bill was about $150 with 3 drinks each....worth every penny.

Agree! Their food has been outstanding the last few times we've gone. We didn't try it for a long time because of the misleading name (Trap Rock Brewery)...we were expecting more of a pub, not fine dining. But it is fine indeed.

Also agree. I like this place better than Huntley Tavern, their other location.

They also own the Huntley Tavern, Ciao, and 3 West-I have been to all but Ciao and they are all excellent
