Not only can you get a great breakfast, lunch, or dinner, at the Parkwood, for a ridiculously low price, they are such a wonderful group of people. My elderly father and mother have become frequenters of the place. My dad had surgery recently and was recovering in the hospital. When I visited with my mother, the owner, Pete, and the waiter, Mike, were anxious to hear how he was doing. When we left, the owner insisted we take a muffin to him in the hospital with their best wishes. It was so sweet I wanted to cry.

This is a business that does it all right. If you haven't been there yet, do yourself a favor.

Jeff, I agree. My 2yo son and I go once a week, and the whole faamily usually goes on weekends. Everyone remembers us and they're very kid friendly, from the owner down to the busboy.

AND they deliver a hamburger to meat-craving pregnant ladies while the kid is napping, joy!

We just started going to the Parkwood based upon the comments posted recently - needless to say we are big fans - solid food and service - thankfully I don't have to go to the Blue Moon anymore.

I have no idea how the Blue Moon stays in business. Everything tops out around AVERAGE. A real diner or a Soda Pop Shop-style restaurant would kick !

We love the Park Wood..We are now on their fax list of daily specials-- by 8:30 am, we are figuring out what to order for lunch!. The last 3 times we've ordered for a lunch delivery, they've included a complimentary bag of (what appears to be) fresh baked cookies. Those people that didn't order lunch that day don't get first dibs on the cookies . Yesterday, there were some really good ones, with macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips in them!

Great place.

My husband and I had dinner there tonight for the first time. Sportlessly clean, good food, good prices, and great conversation. Finally, nearly forty years after leaving Astoria, I have a diner again.

I breakfasted with las this morning at the Parkwood and turned her on to their excellent Eggs Benedict (some may remember my bad experience with this at Pal's Cabin, but I like Eggs Benedict done well. And they do them well. At the Parkwood Diner.).

We went there for waffles this morning, and I was reminded of something-- the high chairs are always spotlessly clean, even the belts. It's cleaner than my son's high chair at home!

Al Roker had a special on last night "Diner Destinations" - Food Network, around 10 pm. He visited several NJ diners, including the Park West, which I believe is owned by the same family as the Park Wood. The salads at the Park West looked so yummy, and were huge.

Excellent place to go for breakfast! The people there are very nice, it's very clean, and my son (being a picky eater) also loves it there. The Belgian Waffles are delicious, and for the egg and bacon lovers, the becon is nice and crispy and the eggs are perfectly cooked! The pancakes are also very very good! My favorite place for breakfast.
